How to Delete a Farm Expense Category
Pigax allows you to delete a farm expense category when it is no longer required for organising your farm expenses.
For example, you may have created a category by mistake, created two categories for the same type of expense, or changed the way expenses are grouped on your farm. Deleting an unnecessary category helps keep the category list clear and prevents users from selecting the wrong category when recording an expense.
A farm expense category can only be deleted when it is empty. If expenses have already been assigned to the category, Pigax will not allow you to delete it.
Note
Before deleting a category, review it carefully and confirm that it does not contain any farm expenses. If expenses are still assigned to the category, you must first delete those expenses before returning to delete the category.
Step 1: Open Farm Expenses
From your Pigax dashboard, open the main menu.
Click Expenses, and then select Farm Expenses.
Pigax will display the farm expense overview. This page shows all the expenses that have been recorded on your farm.
Step 2: Open the Categories section
On the farm expense overview page, click Categories at the top-right side of the screen.
Pigax will open the category overview. Here, you can see all the farm expense categories that have been created on your farm, together with the date each category was created.
Step 3: Find the category you want to delete
Locate the category that you want to remove from the category overview.
Before continuing, make sure that you have selected the correct category and that it does not contain any farm expenses.
Step 4: Click Delete
Click Delete beside the category you want to remove.
Pigax will display a confirmation prompt asking:
Do you really want to delete this category?
Step 5: Confirm the deletion
To continue, click Yes, delete it.
If the category is empty, Pigax will delete it and remove it from the category overview.
The deleted category will also no longer be available for selection when recording or updating a farm expense.
Note
If farm expenses have already been assigned to the category, Pigax will not allow the category to be deleted.
To delete such a category, return to the farm expense overview and delete all the expenses assigned to that category.
After the category no longer contains any expenses, return to the category overview and repeat the deletion steps.
